Haddonfield Celebrations

Tree Lighting and Santa Parade

Haddonfield's holiday season begins on the Friday after Thanksgiving, with our traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Library. Following presentations by our Mayor, distinguished guests, and the Haddonfield High School singers & marching band, Santa Claus leads hundreds of excited kids into town for their first visit with the Jolly man. (Even back in 1951, Haddonfield was a must-stop for Santa....)

A holiday evening at Library Point
After greetings from the Mayor and Commissioners, there are songs and prayers. Canned goods (and money) are collected for local charities serving the needy. After the tree lighting, Santa arrives, usually fire truck. He leads the attendees into downtown Haddonfield where children can visit him at the gazebo in Kings Court. This evening the stores begin their holiday candlelight shopping. To find out more on the shopping district and stores, please visit downtown Haddonfield
So that everyone can participate in the holiday spirit, there are additional displays at the Library Point including a nativity scene and a Hannukkah menorah.
